I can’t stop grinning from ear to ear. The forest floor is covered in spring ephemerals: trout lily, wild violets (purple, white, and white with purple stripes!), spring beauty, lady’s smock. Ferns and mayapples are starting to unfurl. Every now and then, I spot a jack-in-the-pulpit standing tall. I feel like skipping, frolicking, prancing through the trees, dancing among the wildflowers. When no one is around, I do frolic a little along the trail, imagining I’m in a sundress and living as free as a fairy in the flower-filled woods…
As the days get hotter and the leaves are now filling the trees, I’m itching to spend more time in the garden, go on more hikes, and go biking and kayaking. I hope you’re spending some time enjoying the magic outdoors, too! How are you spending the season? What do you plan on growing this spring and summer — plant-wise or in your life?
